Dave Oermann: Delta Blue

A few more turned out than for the February meeting.

Dave Oermann's scratch built Delta Blue took Model of the Month, defeating Rick's lovely green and yellow Cobra. Mailing tubes and other repurposed parts overcame a really ancient Estes kit! Jason threw a 4" to 3" transition to me and said make something with this. I decided to use it as a nosecone, and make a stable Delta like.

Tony introduced us all to the world of paper rockets, and the costs of getting a "few" large models printed on heavy stock. He plans to build a fleet of various historical rockets at the same scale. Serendipitously, one that he brought was a Falcon launch vehicle, and we watched the on-board video of the successful launch from earlier that day.
